Tour Itinerary

Day (01)
Wednesday

Cairo

Arrive Cairo international airport, upon arrival you will be met by World Avenues representative and transferred to your chosen hotel.

Day (02)
Thursday

Cairo

This morning explore one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Great Pyramids of Giza, and the nearby mysterious Sphinx carved from a single block of limestone.

Day (03)
Friday

Cairo

This morning visit the fabulous Egyptian Museum, home to priceless antiquities; including statues, reliefs, sarcophagi, and the King Tutankhamun’s treasures discovered in the valley of the kings in Luxor by Howard Carter in 1922.

Day (04)
Saturday

Cairo – Aswan

Fly to Aswan in the early morning to Aswan, upon arrival at Aswan airport you will be transferred to your chosen cruise boat.
Embarkation before lunch. After lunch sail on a traditional sailing boat “felucca” around the Kitchener’s Island to view the Botanical gardens and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. Overnight in Aswan.

Day (05)
Sunday

Aswan – Kom Ombo - Edfu

Out tour today includes the High Dam this is the world’s largest rock-filled dam created to control the Nile, we continue to visit the ancient quarries that produced granite for temples, obelisks, shrines and sarcophagi, to see the Unfinished Obelisk. A short boat ride to the temple of Philae dedicated to the Goddess Isis one of the finest Ptolemaic temples recently dismantled from the submerged Island of Philae and reconstructed on a nearby island. Sail onwards to Kom Ombo. On a hill overlooking the Nile, we visit the ruins of a Great temple of Kom Ombo which is dedicated to the falcon-headed god “Haroeris”, and the crocodile god “Sobek”. Continue sailing to Edfu and overnight.

Day (06)
Monday

Edfu – Luxor

In Edfu take a horse-drawn carriage through the village to visit the beautifully preserved sandstone temple, and the most outstanding example of a true layout of an Egyptian temple, the temple of Horus built by the Ptolemaic Pharaohs. After our visit we sail to Luxor and overnight.

Day (07)
Tuesday

Luxor

This morning we start by visiting the magnificent West Bank famous for its royal tombs. Visit includes the Valley of the Kings, and Queens, The temple of Queen Hatshepsut to see the bas-reliefs which illustrate her expedition to the land of Punt. Then visit the Colossi of Memnon. In the afternoon explore the extraordinary monuments on the East Bank, the splendid temples of Karnak and Luxor. The Karnak temple was built by Ptolemy III, is a vast complex of several temples and is the most celebrated temple in Egypt by means of small avenue of sphinxes. View the Great Court, the magnificent Hypostyle hall with it 100 massive columns standing 23 metres high. Queen Hatshepsut’s granite obelisks and the sacred lake guarded by a giant granite scarab. Situated south of the Karnak temple is the Luxor temple, built by Amenophis III and Ramses II to host the festival of Opet. Luxor temple has a magnificent colonnade with its 14 papyrus-headed columns, some 15 meter in height.

Wednesday

Luxor – Cairo

After breakfast disembark your cruiser, and transfer to Luxor airport for flight to Cairo. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred by World Avenues Representative to your hotel.

Day (09)
Thursday

Cairo

World Avenues representative will escort you to Cairo international airport for your onward flight home.
