Dear Mr Gobrial,
Thank you for your mail.
In fact I wanted to write earlier when your mail arrived.
There are two sides for our trip.
1. The positive side 2. The negative side.
1. The positive side.
The Cairo tours, the Nile cruise & train journeys were well organised and satisfactory. we commend you for those.
2. The negative side
we planned our trip on the program you sent us.
(a) your program states " on arrival at Alexandria airport, meet your office representative who will assist through passport control formalities."........your representative was NOT present to help and he was ONE HOUR late . It was a disappointing start for the tour and we had an unpleasant experience with the Egyptian Immigration authorities at Alexandria.
(b) Program for 10-12-2005........ Luxor
Your program states ' disembarkation after breakfast, free day & visit Luxor & Karnak temples & transfer to Luxor railway station"
YOUR PROGRAM IS MISLEADING. we were under the impression that a tour of Karnak & Luxor temples was included but we were requested to pay extra at USD 35 per person for this. Only two in our group participated as it exceeded our budget.
You did not arrange a hotel for us to stay until departure time of the the train. we were asked to pay an extra USD 135 for hotel and lunch ( lunch payment is accepted).......this additional payment was unfair and tantamount to cheating .You should have arranged a hotel for us to stay till depature time of the train in your original itinarary and included that cost in your original offer.
I feel you deliberately omitted this cost so that your offer was attractive and left us no option but pay for the hotel stay in Luxor.
(c) Europa Hotel
we were unhappy with the condition and room facilities of this hotel. It is not clean and does not merit a 4* classification.
I asked you about the classification of this hotel when you made your offer. You insisted it was 4* when the internet info said it was 3*. I believed you.
Our family has mixed feelings of our trip to Egypt.The Pyramids, museum, temples and the cruise are all pleasant and memorable
experiences. The Egyptians are friendly & warm people with a very good sense of humour. The immigation and customs officials at Alexandria airport need to be more courteous and intelligent.
You need to provide customers with a COMPLETE program of the tour without loopholes. Also you must not make statements
which are inaccurate and which you will not fulfill. It is best to have an honest and forthright approach in business. Think of the long term gain and advantages rather than the short term.
If I was asked to classify your performance as tour operator I will give you 2 stars out of 5 stars.I am afraid I cannot recommend
your organisation to the many friends in the U.A.E. and Sri Lanka who wish to visit Egypt.
